Lego
Lego Pride
In recent times, there has been a rising trend across the United States to ban public drag shows, fueled by the belief that such content is harmful to minors. This movement is part of a broader wave of homophobia sweeping across the globe, leading to legislative actions aimed at prohibiting these performances. Given this climate, it is increasingly vital to champion the celebration of diverse voices rather than suppressing them.
Lego can promote inclusivity and support the LGBTQ+ community by creating custom-made drag minifigures. These unique toys can educate young minds about diversity and inclusivity through play, helping to foster a more accepting future generation. This initiative represents a meaningful step towards using children's toys to promote equality and counteract homophobia.
Concept
On June 25th, we are hosting a virtual drag parade for NYC Pride where participants can create and customise their own drag characters.
Microsite
The campaign will launch around a microsite where users can create a custom drag minifigure and create a post you can share on social.
#HashtagTakeover
We will organize a virtual pride march through the hashtag takeover.
People can participate in the virtual parade by sharing their Drag Minifigure posts with our hashtag #DragIsAwesome on Instagram.
🖕🏻 to Politicians
We will also tag the social handles of all politicians who are aiming to silence the queer voices and flood their accounts with drag parades.
Lego Minifigures
Participants can also get their customised minifigures in real life.
